Shipped 2026-05-26 · Mobile We’ve rebuilt Bower on mobile from the ground up. It’s no longer a stripped-back capture screen — it’s an app-like experience with its own navigation, a redesigned capture flow, and a faster way to sign in.

An app-like layout

Open Bower on your phone and you get a persistent bottom navigation bar with four tabs:
  • Capture — the redesigned Quick Capture page (below)
  • Bird — chat with your AI assistant
  • Workspace — browse, search, and open everything in your workspace
  • Settings — your account and preferences
Add Bower to your home screen and it runs full-screen, like a native app. See Add Bower to your home screen.

Quick Capture, redesigned

The capture page is now built around a single capture ring and a four-mode picker:
  • Voice — tap to record; Bird transcribes in real time
  • Photo — camera or gallery, with a Photo / Equipment toggle so a nameplate photo can go straight to your Equipment Register
  • Video — record a clip up to 5 minutes; Bird transcribes it, generates chapters, and writes a summary
  • Text — type or paste a note
Every mode ends with the same review screen — name → collection → save — so the flow feels identical whatever you captured. You can pick or create a collection inline without leaving the page, and your most recent captures sit one tap away.

Sign in by scanning a QR code

Signing up happens on desktop, but the magic happens on your phone. The onboarding checklist now shows a QR code — scan it and a secure, single-use magic link signs you in on your phone instantly. No retyping passwords, and it works for enterprise SSO accounts that don’t have a personal Google login.

Captures survive the trip

Mobile captures are now persisted locally the moment you make them, so a flaky connection or an accidental refresh won’t lose your work — the capture is still there when you come back.
