Shipped 2026-04-24 · AI Some answers want a sentence. Others want a chart. Bird now decides per question, and when a chart is the right answer, it renders one directly in the chat.

What’s new

  • Bar, line, and scatter plots rendered inline in Bird’s response.
  • Axes labelled from the source — column names, unit annotations, and units of measurement carry through from your spreadsheet, note, or attachment so the chart is publishable-quality, not just illustrative.
  • Question-driven — Bird only draws a chart when the question benefits from one. A summary question gets prose; a “plot column F against column B” question gets a scatter plot. You can also ask explicitly: “show me a line chart of…”.
  • Editable through follow-up — refine the chart by replying. “Switch the x-axis to log scale”, “filter to samples after Day 5”, “make it a bar chart instead” — Bird re-renders.

Why this matters

Charts are the single most efficient way to spot a trend or an outlier in tabular data. Until now, getting one meant opening a separate tool, formatting the data, and rebuilding the visual every time. Inline charts collapse that loop into the chat where you were already asking.
