Shipped 2026-03-25 · Permissions Sometimes you need to send a note to someone outside your workspace — a collaborator at another institution, a journal reviewer, a thesis advisor — without setting up shared workspace access. Public share links cover that case.

What’s new

  • Generate a public link for any note, attachment, or collection. Recipients open the link in their browser; no Bower account needed.
  • Read-only by default — the link grants view access only. The original owner keeps full control.
  • Revocable any time — delete the link from the share dialog and the URL stops working immediately.
  • Annotation previews carry through — public viewers see your inline annotations on images, not just the raw originals.

Privacy

Public links are unlisted — they aren’t indexed, listed, or discoverable unless you share the URL. They include a long random token, so guessing one isn’t realistic. Treat the URL as the password.
