In a live session, Bower sees through the glasses camera, hears you, and answers through the speakers. Everything else about live agent mode works the same as on your phone.

Start a live session

  • Press and hold the glasses button.
  • Say “Go live” or “Start live”.
  • In the Bower app, open a protocol and tap Execute Protocol to go live already running it.
The live screen stays open in the Bower app on your phone while you work. The live screen has a Stream and Capture switch. Stream, the default, lets Bower see the camera feed. In Capture, Bower doesn’t see the feed, but snapshots and clips are full-resolution photos and video from the glasses. If the glasses aren’t on Wi-Fi yet, the session starts voice only and adds video once they connect. In Offline mode, Live uses your phone’s mobile data: Bower hears you but can’t see, and takes photos through your glasses. To end the session, press and hold the button again.

Run a protocol

Ask Bower to run a protocol, or start it with Execute Protocol. Bower reads each step and moves on when you tell it you’re done:
  • “Run the buffer prep protocol”
  • “Next step” · “Mark this done” · “Go back”
  • “Go to step 3” jumps straight there. If you name a step by its title instead, Bower reads back the step it found and waits for a “yes”.
The step cards, timers, and deviations work as described in execution mode.

Capture during a session

  • “Take a snapshot” saves what the glasses see.
  • “Make a note that the sample looked cloudy” creates a note.
  • “Start recording” and “Stop recording” save a clip of up to 2 minutes.
Captures from the session are grouped in a collection for it, and during a protocol run they’re linked to the protocol.

What shows on your phone

Bower Glasses have no display, so two things appear on the live screen in the Bower app instead:
  • The REC indicator, while a clip is recording. In a background “Hey Bower” session the live screen isn’t open, so there’s no indicator.
  • Anything you ask Bower to show, such as “show me the video for this protocol”.
