Sign-in method

Bower uses email and password authentication. Create an account with your email address and set a password during sign-up.

Changing your password

  1. Go to Settings → Security.
  2. Enter your current password.
  3. Enter your new password.
  4. Click Save.

Resetting a forgotten password

If you can’t sign in:
  1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot password.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Check your inbox for a password reset link.
  4. Click the link and set a new password.
The reset link expires after a limited time. If it’s expired, request a new one.

Signing out

To sign out, go to Settings > Security > Account Access and click Sign out. This signs you out of the current device only — other sessions remain active.

Revoking all sessions

If you suspect unauthorised access or want to sign out of Bower on every device:
  1. Go to Settings > Security > Account Access.
  2. Click Revoke next to “Revoke all sessions”.
  3. All active sessions across all devices will be invalidated immediately.
  4. You will be signed out and will need to sign in again.
This is useful if you’ve lost a device, suspect your account has been compromised, or simply want to ensure no other devices have access.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account from Settings > Security > Danger Zone. What gets deleted:
  • Your profile (email, name) and authentication record
  • Your workspace memberships and OAuth integrations
  • Workspaces where you are the sole member, including all content and files within them
What gets kept:
  • In shared workspaces (where other members exist), your notes, files, and collections are preserved for the team. Ownership is transferred to the workspace admin.
  • Audit logs are anonymised — the record of what happened is kept, but your identity is removed.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We recommend exporting your data first.

Session timeout

For security, Bower automatically signs you out after 30 minutes of inactivity. A warning appears 2 minutes before the timeout, giving you the option to stay signed in.

Account security tips

  • Use a strong, unique password that you don’t reuse elsewhere.
  • If you suspect unauthorised access, revoke all sessions immediately and change your password.
  • Review the audit logs periodically for unexpected activity.
