# Switch workspaces

> Move between workspaces. Each one is fully isolated.

If you have more than one workspace, you can switch between them at any time. Workspaces are fully isolated — nothing crosses between them unless you explicitly move or copy it.

## How to switch

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the workspace menu">
    Click your workspace name in the top-left corner of the desktop app.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select a workspace">
    Your workspaces are listed in the dropdown. Click the one you want to switch to.
  </Step>
</Steps>

You'll be taken into that workspace immediately. Everything you see — notes, collections, members, settings — belongs to that workspace only.

## Workspace isolation

This is worth understanding clearly:

* **Notes don't cross workspaces.** A note captured in Workspace A is not visible in Workspace B.
* **Search is scoped to the current workspace.** Searching in Workspace A will not surface results from Workspace B.
* **Bird is scoped to the current workspace.** When you ask Bird a question, it draws on notes from the workspace you're currently in.
* **Members are per workspace.** A colleague in Workspace A won't have access to Workspace B unless explicitly invited.

This isolation is intentional. It means you can use separate workspaces for different projects, clients, or contexts without any risk of information crossing over.

## Switching on mobile

On mobile, you can switch workspaces in two places:

* **Quick Capture page** — use the workspace dropdown at the top to select a different workspace before capturing.
* **Settings > Workspace > Current workspace** — switch from the settings panel.

Capture on mobile always goes to your currently active workspace.
