# Bower on mobile

> Bower on your phone is a full app-like experience — capture, chat with Bird, and browse your whole workspace from a simple bottom navigation bar.

Bower works on your phone the same way it works on your desktop — it's the same web app at [app.bowerlabs.ai](https://app.bowerlabs.ai), tuned for a small screen and one-handed use. Everything syncs in real time, so a note you capture on your phone is on your desktop within seconds.

## The bottom navigation bar

On mobile, Bower gives you a persistent bottom navigation bar with four tabs:

| Tab           | What it's for                                                                                                                             |
| ------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Capture**   | The Quick Capture page — record voice, take a photo, shoot a video, or type a note. See [Mobile capture](/capture/mobile-capture).        |
| **Bird**      | Chat with your AI assistant — ask questions across your workspace, hands-free or typed.                                                   |
| **Workspace** | Browse, search, and open everything — notes, collections, protocols, and attachments. Search runs full-text and semantically as you type. |
| **Settings**  | Your account, profile, and preferences.                                                                                                   |

When you start a voice or video recording, the navigation bar and header step out of the way for a full-screen capture view, then reappear when you're done.

## Signing in on your phone

You sign up on desktop, but you can get signed in on your phone in seconds. The onboarding checklist shows a **QR code** — scan it with your phone's camera and a secure, single-use magic link signs you straight in. No password retyping, and it works for enterprise SSO accounts.

## Install it to your home screen

Add Bower to your home screen and it launches full-screen with its own icon, like a native app — including a long-press shortcut straight to Quick Capture. See [Add Bower to your home screen](/getting-started/install-pwa).
