# Every save, recoverable — note version history

> Side-by-side diff viewer + one-click restore on every note. Every meaningful save creates a recoverable version.

Lab notebooks have always had a weak spot: the moment you regret an edit, you
can't get the previous version back. Bower now keeps a full version history
of every note, with a viewer that makes diffs legible.

## What's new

* **Automatic versioning** — every meaningful save creates a version. No
  manual "save snapshot" needed.
* **Side-by-side diff viewer** — pick any two versions and see exactly what
  changed: text, attachments, annotations, tags, links.
* **One-click restore** — restore any prior version. The restore itself is
  a new version, so you can roll forward again if you change your mind.
* **Author attribution** — every version shows who made it and when.
* **Annotations restore alongside content** — restoring a version brings back
  the drawings on inline images, not just the text.

Open any note → **⋮ menu → Version history**.
